As one of Twitter’s first Directors, he was instrumental in its rapid expansion, leading products like the Twitter API, Firehose, Tweet Button, and Embedded Tweets, while supporting millions of developers. After Twitter, he became a General Partner at Redpoint Ventures, leading Seed to Series B investments in standout companies such as Hims, Telegram, and FLEXE. Beyond Redpoint, Ryan is an active angel investor, backing disruptive startups like Figma, Loom, Shield AI, and Poolside, continuing to shape the future of tech and innovation.
A self-taught programmer from a young age, Ryan left college after his freshman year to pursue opportunities in the startup world. Early in his career, he worked at Skyhook Wireless, contributing to pioneering geolocation technology in the browser via the W3C, and even collaborating on one of the earliest versions of the iPhone.
